1. Waterproof materials selected for roofing works shall meet the following requirements. The drawings shall indicate the types, models and specifications of waterproof materials, and their main physical properties shall comply with the provisions of this specification on the quality indicators of the materials;

2. When selecting roof waterproofing membrane, coating and joint sealing material, it shall be selected according to the relevant contents of Chapter 5, Chapter 6 and Chapter 8 of this specification;

3. Considering the conditions of the construction environment and the operability of the process, the materials used should be compatible under the following circumstances: waterproof materials (referring to coils and coatings, the same below) and base treatment agents, waterproof materials and adhesives, waterproof materials and sealing materials, waterproof materials and protective coatings, two kinds of waterproof materials are used in combination, and base treatment agents and sealing materials.

4. Waterproof materials shall be selected according to the nature of the building and the use function of the roof. In addition to this specification, the following requirements shall be met: for exposed roofs that are not used, waterproof materials with strong adhesion to the base layer and excellent resistance to ultraviolet rays, thermal aging retention rate, acid rain resistance and puncture resistance shall be selected. On the roof, should choose puncture resistance, good resistance to mildew and high tensile strength waterproof material. Water storage roof and planted roof shall be made of waterproof materials with excellent corrosion resistance, mildew resistance and puncture resistance. Thin shell, fabricated structure, steel structure and other large-span building roofs, should use light weight and heat resistance, to adapt to the deformation of excellent waterproof material. Inverted roof, should be used to adapt to the deformation of good, high seam sealing guarantee rate of waterproof material. Slope roofing, should be selected and the grass-roots adhesive force, small temperature sensitive waterproof material. Sealing and waterproofing of roof joints shall be selected with sealing materials with strong adhesion to the base, excellent low temperature resistance and certain ability to adapt to displacement.

5. The roof should be selected with low water absorption, low density and thermal conductivity, and a certain strength of the insulation material; the moisture content of the closed insulation layer can be determined by calculation according to the relative moisture content corresponding to the local annual average relative humidity and the quality of the material.
